Following my recent trip to South Africa, we have made a number of exciting acquisitions which will greatly strengthen the depth and diversity of the bloodlines in our kennel. When importing new blood, we have always followed a policy of acquiring a dog rather than introducing new blood via artificial insemination, as we believe it is important to know a dog intimately, both physically and temperamentally before breeding with it. This can only be done by ongoing daily interaction with a dog in its home environment. A dog tells you so much more about itself than a vial of semen!

EBBASA Appraisal 2006
The inaugral EBBASA appraisal was held in the UK and Ireland on 27th and 28 July. Of the top 16 dogs, scoring 85% or more, eleven were Coomore owned or bred and three had one Coomore parent. Marvell Merlin was the top scoring male in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Coomore Lulu was the top scoring female in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Ysterberg Beretta
Berretta has finally arrived in Ireland. He immediately demonstrated his superb temperament, settling in at once. He has a typical Ysterberg temperament; stable, friendly and affectionate. He is shown below exploring on the day he arrived.
Physically he should complement the Coomore females and his temperament will continue to enhance their already excellent temperaments.
He was born on 22 January 2003. He was sired by Ysterberg Troffel, out of Rietkolk Mia. He scored 83.10% in his appraisal and has 0-0 hips.
Appraisal Result
Coomore Ishka scored 85% in her Appraisal, although aged only 13 months. She is therefore the highest scoring bitch in Great Britain and Ireland this year. This is the third year in a row that a Coomore bred or owned dog has been top scoring female for the year in Great Britain and Ireland. Congratulations also to her litter sisters Meeka, owned by Darren & Zoe Fryer and Lola, owned by Victoria Fryer, who scored 82.90% and 81.70% respectively.
