Coomore Boerboels was founded in 2001 in Portarlington in Ireland with the importation of seven dogs. Three of these came from the United Kingdom, one from Belgium and three were imported from South Africa. They represent the best of European and African bloodlines.

They were chosen to allow the creation of a kennel that would produce home reared Boerboels that are of the highest quality in terms of physical type and conformation, with sound reliable temperaments.
Coomore Boerboels are not just another big dog. They combine substance with soundness and athleticism and the wonderful Boerboel temperament developed over generations on the family farms of South Africa, of ideal family dog and great home protector.

In November 2007, Coomore Boerboels moved to South Africa. We are now located on a farm in the Hermansburg Valley near Nelspruit, which is the principal town of the province of Mpumalanga. It is a mixed farm, farming vegetables, pigs, goats, chickens and avocados. Our new location has afforded the dogs a spacious, rugged environment in which to develop, work and play.
The farm is located ten kilometres from Nelspruit and is nestled in spectacular and beautiful countryside:

Most of our boerboels live together in one large pack which most of the time consists of up to five adult males, ten to fifteen adult females and a number of juveniles and puppies of both sexes. This group has the complete freedom of the garden and farm. They interact daily with farm workers, visitors, family members, visiting tradesmen and others. Despite their stability and friendliness, they make an effective security force.
